If movies with intricate plot lines, elegant costumes and rapier dialogue are your bag, ignore this film at all costs, because you won‟t enjoy it. However, if you are prepared to suspend your disbelief this will become one of the best films you have ever seen. Containing 90 minutes of testosterone fuelled mayhem, awesome montages, stunning fight sequences and a plot which you don‟t even need to follow, you will not be able to fault this movie in any way ever. It will leave you both astounded and also desperate to tone up. Never before have I felt such a desire to don a leather thong and cape and strut around my flat emulating the defence of Sparta. Watching this with my girlfriend, I was forced to keep quiet, but you will never see Gerard Butler in the same way again, trust me!
