Welcome back to all those Continuers returning to those dreaded lectures, and welcome back to all those Freshers returning from their short period of chromotose after the awesomeness that was Freshers Week has finally subsided. The JCR Exec however still has plenty of socials, sporting activities and crazy events to keep you entertained for these next 8 weeks.

College Events This Week

On Monday we are having an Action Man and Barbie themed fancy dress off-campus barcrawl. Starting in Walkabout at around 8pm (off campus students can meet us there) we shall eventually find ourselves in Revs for an awesome night!

Come Wednesday both our Mens and Womens Darts team are holding trials at 7pm in Cartmel Bar, so give it a whirl and get involved in our crazy bar sports college teams.

Saturday brings the extremely exciting 40th Anniversary of Cartmel College celebration party! You can purchase your tickets from Sue Gara for £5 (you can also purchase tickets for our trip to Manchester’s Tiger Tiger soon as well), with a tribute band to The Killers and our resident AV Tech Jonny Casey DJing during the marathon event you’re sure to have a blast!

And come Sunday you’ll of course have the Sunday Quiz at 8pm in Cartmel Bar which is a regularly weekly event. In addition during the day we are holding an inter-college sporting competition based on “Old Skool” sports - meet in the JCR at 12:30pm to take part in an afternoon of egg and spoon races

Website Updates and Changes

Pictures from the glorious Freshers Week are now online and you can view them in our Socials Gallery which will be regularly updated throughout the term, as will our Sports Gallery as each Sunday we kick other College ass in the inter-college competition, the Carter Shield.

Interested in running for the JCR Exec come Week 8? Then there are a couple of snippets of useful information on our low down of the Exec Elections period which also has information about campaigning rules and how much you are allowed to spend on your campaign.

Once again, I hope all the Freshers have sincerely enjoyed their Freshers Week and that we continue to have an awesome time throughout this term as well!
